Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAP)

While abroad, students must maintain SAP to be eligible for financial aid the following semester. Students may find the requirements for SAP policy by clicking on the link below. If you are in doubt that you will not receive enough credit from your semester abroad, get in touch with your study abroad advisor as soon as possible and contact a financial aid representative.

Financial Aid requires that all credit for the academic year be posted by July 31st to be considered for financial aid in the upcoming year. Students who participated in spring semester or year long exchange programs may not receive their academic transcript from their program before the deadline listed above and may not have credit posted to their account. If you are on financial aid and expect your transcript to arrive after July 31st, please be prepared to submit an appeal to the financial aid office. The appeal form can be found by following the link below. Please follow the tips on what to include in your appeal listed on this web page.

Things to include in your appeal:
1. Dates you went abroad and returned
2. Length of program
3. Do you believe you completed sufficient coursework abroad? Why/why not?
4. Estimated number of hours completed
5. Transcript, credit, or balance issues
6. Any other issues or concerns
7. Submit a copy of your Host Institution Enrollment Form or an unofficial transcript as supporting evidence.
